The Nordic Council is the parliamentary body of the official Nordic cooperation and was formed in 1952. The Council has 87 elected members from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland.
The Nordic Council of Ministers was founded in 1971. Despite the generic name, it actually consists of several councils.
